The competition is open to current high school juniors and includes original essays or artwork about the student’s personal connection to New Orleans.
    • The works of Daniel Monaghan, Tarik Wilson, and Anthony Huete were chosen for consideration to the foundation for the competition. Winners will be announced by the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation on May 15. Good luck to our Tigers.
  • TCAC Basketball Finishes Season with “Lakers” Victory
    • In the basketball championship last week, the Lakers secured a four-point victory within the last two minutes of the game. The co-captains of the Lakers, Jared Jones and Ashton Brown, both scored more than 10 points for their team. Cavs player Jonathan Williams scored 10 points for his team, but it wasn’t enough to control the game. The boys are looking forward to next year when TCAC starts again!
  • Faculty & Staff Give to Community through Service
    • In the spirit of servant leadership, Holy Cross faculty and staff gave of their time on Holy Thursday to give back to the community through a day of service with several organizations.
      • One team of volunteers visited Magnolia Community Center, where they had an opportunity to tour the facility, learn about the programs they offer, and spend time visiting with clients and spreading cheer. Another team visited Vista Shores senior center, where they sang and decorated Easter eggs with the residents.
      • Two other teams visited the Salvation Army and Covenant House, where they did some cleaning and painting of their facilities. And one team spent their morning at Holy Cross School setting up recycling bins and doing some spring cleaning around campus.
      • The group started off the day with a prayer service and returned to campus after a day of volunteering to reflect on their experiences working with these organizations. It was truly a meaningful opportunity for our faculty and staff to give back and to be role models of servant leadership.
