Holy Cross congratulates Alvin R. Albe, Jr., a 1971 graduate, for his business and philanthropical achievements and we thank him for his significant contributions to Holy Cross School.

  • Holy Cross Band Director Mike Orkus Announces Retirement Following 48 Years in Catholic Education  
  • Holy Cross School’s Tiger Band director Michael Orkus has announced his retirement at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. A 1967 graduate of Holy Cross, Orkus has served in Catholic education in the Archdiocese of New Orleans for 48 years.
  • Orkus spent 28 years at Holy Cross, where he has served as band director, dean of students, religion teacher, founder of the Tiger Cub Athletic Club program, and transportation director. In 2018 he returned to Holy Cross and led the Tiger Band in their appearance in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tenn., on New Year’s Eve. Orkus also directed the Holy Cross Tiger Band in its national TV performance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1981

    • The alumni association will hold its annual fishing rodeo at Hopedale Marina May 31st and June 1st.

  • Senior Cade Martin was awarded Track MVP of the meet, with two first place finishes in the 800M run and the 1600M run. Our varsity team finished third overall with a total of 84 points

    •  We proud to announce that senior Josue Fuentes has committed to Delta State University! DSU competes in NCAA Division 2, is located in Cleveland, MS and is most famously the home of former HC soccer head coach, Luke Sheekey, who is head coach of their women’s team now

    • We will celebrate our patron saint’s feast day, March 19, with a traditional St. Joseph’s Altar.  This tradition began in the Middle Ages in gratitude to St. Joseph for answering prayers for deliverance from famine. The students will learn about the symbols and traditions of the St. Joseph Altar in Religion class. 
    • The school is looking for volunteers to assist with the alter for more information please contact the Mission office
